General Manager Update

January 10, 2025

Friday, January 10, 2025
Dear ${member.full_name},
I hope everyone stayed safe during our inclement winter weather this week. Our team is closely monitoring the storm predictions for the weekend. We have a planned delayed opening campus-wide tomorrow, January 11 at 10:00 AM due to winter weather.  We'll continue to keep you updated through email, and our website, for any changes to operating hours.
Richmond Water Advisory
Richmond continues to operate under a boil water advisory and many residents and businesses continue to have no access to water. Salisbury operates off of Chesterfield County's water and has not been directly affected by this advisory. Our team has been quick to assist other affected Club's in the area by providing space for planned events that would have otherwise been cancelled. I would like to thank membership and staff for being flexible during these pop-up events and ongoing water advisory.
Operations Update
Please note the Cedar Lounge will be closed today, Friday, January 10 for a private event. Grill 63 and the Tap Room are unaffected by this closure. The Cedar Lounge will also be closed the following Saturday, January 18 to accommodate SSMA's Winter Dance. Grill 63 and the Tap Room are unaffected by this closure. For questions regarding operations, please call the Club at 804-794-6841.
Golf Course Snow
I need everyone’s help to protect the golf course during snowy conditions. While it might seem harmless to enjoy some fun on the course in the snow, these activities can have significant impacts on its health and playability come spring. Staying off the course, especially the greens, is crucial to preserving the turf's integrity. Walking or playing on snow-covered areas can compact the snow, leading to ice formation that deprives the grass of oxygen and promotes diseases like snow mold. Moreover, frozen grass blades are fragile and can easily break, causing damage that may take months to recover. Your cooperation is vital in maintaining a healthy and thriving course for the upcoming season.

Winter Newsletter
We released our winter newsletter. Read more on happenings around the Club for January to March 2025 linked here.

Accounting Update
We ask that you please disregard billing statements emailed on Thursday, January 2. A technical error caused periodic billing to not appear on member statements. This error was resolved by our team January 3, with corrected statements emailed to membership. Your statements are also visible on the Salisbury website and app. If you have questions regarding billing, please contact the front office at 804-794-6841.

Scout Stats
Our first month of statistics from Scout's new collar have come in! In the past month, she has taken 680,000 steps (or about 340 miles). An active dog normally averages only 28 miles in the same time frame.

Winter Weather Reminders
In order to best serve membership while maintaining safety, we ask members to familiarize themselves with winter weather procedures. Please keep safe distances from fireplaces and ask staff to assist when turning them on or off. Please respect posted frost delays on tee times. In the event of inclement weather, please visit the website and app for changes to our operational hours.
