General Manager Update

February 21

Friday, February 21, 2025
Dear ${member.full_name},
The Club was fortunate to avoid the heavy snowfall that was forecasted for Wednesday, as the brunt of the storm hit just south of us in Norfolk. However, we still saw around five inches of snow. Our team worked fast to clear parking lots and sidewalks, and the Club received minimal impact to operations. We thank membership for their patience during delayed openings and early closures of campus.
Snow on the Course
As a reminder, we ask that you stay off of the course during snowy conditions. While it may seem harmless to enjoy some fun in the snow, these activities can have significant impacts on course health and playability come spring. Walking or playing on snow-covered areas can compact the snow, leading to ice formation that deprives the grass of oxygen and promotes diseases like snow mold. Moreover, frozen grass blades are fragile and can easily break, causing damage that may take months to recover. Your cooperation is vital in maintaining a healthy and thriving course for the upcoming season and we appreciate your assistance.
Final Friday on February 28
We've almost reached the end of February and that can only mean one thing - another Final Friday! Join us in the Cedar Lounge for live music from John Fetherston and a Bourbon tasting with Weller and Rip Van Winkle Distilleries on February 28, no reservation needed.
Spring Tennis Clinics
With all this talk of snow, it's hard to believe Spring is just around the corner. In just one month, our Spring Junior Tennis Clinics will return. Running for 8 weeks from March 17 - May 15,  these clinics are open to kids ages 3.5 to 11+. See the schedule below and register on the Club Calendar.

From Last Update
Golf Maintenance Update
Last brought destructive ice that led to broken branches and down trees across campus. Clean-up was extensive and swift, as our team prepared for yet another storm.

Employee Recognition
Briana Owens (Facilities) and Dana Ford (Golf Maintenance) were recognized by their peers and acknowledged by Salisbury's Employee Recognition Committee earlier this week. Their hard work and dedication to our staff's core values of positivity, respect, integrity, dependability and enthusiasm is undeniable. If you see them around campus, congratulate them on a job well done.

Tennis Sponsorships
Tennis season is around the corner and is only made better through the generosity of our member sponsors. Read more about our tennis sponsorship program in the flyer linked here and contact Director of Tennis, Scott Steinour with questions at [email protected].
