General Manager Update

January 24, 2025

Friday, January 24, 2025
Dear ${member.full_name},
It seems this cold front is behind us. Our maintenance team would like to thank membership for their patience these past few weeks as we protected the course from the impacts of frost, snow and ice.
Letter from President
Club President G Shrestha shared his first letter to membership this past Monday. He shared updates on Clubhouse Operations, Golf & Grounds, Finances, Athletics, Membership and more. Read his letter here.
Golf Course Closure
The golf course will remain closed through the weekend. Currently, approximately 30% of the greens are still covered in ice, and with temperatures expected to drop into the teens on Saturday, we anticipate the course will not thaw until Sunday at the earliest. We understand this may be disappointing, and we appreciate your patience as we work to protect the greens during these challenging conditions. The driving range and short game area will open after the frost lifts on Sunday. Thankfully, the forecast looks much more favorable for next week, and we look forward to resuming normal operations on Tuesday. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Ladies' Member/Guest Tennis Tournament
The Ladies' Member/Guest Tennis Tournament is on its final day of competition. Stay tuned to emails as we announce the winners. The Men's Member/Member Tennis Tournament is up next from February 18 - February 21 and currently open for registration on the Club Calendar.
New Menu
As the seasons change, so do our menus. Our latest menus just went into effect today, filled with the hearty tastes of winter, including butternut squash, leeks, mushrooms, potatoes and decadent cuts of meat. Old favorites return like our French Dip Sandwich, while new takes on classic items, like our Nashville Hot Cauliflower, keep things interesting. Our dinner entreés received a full refresh with additions like Rockfish, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Seared Lasagna, Short Rib Pot Roast and Scallops. Reservations are available weekly in Grill 63. The Cedar Lounge and Tap Room are open weekly; walk-up only. View our menus below.

From Last Update
Snow on Course
As a reminder, we ask that you stay off of the course during snowy conditions. Walking or playing on snow-covered areas can compact the snow, leading to ice formation that deprives the grass of oxygen and promotes diseases like snow mold. Moreover, frozen grass blades are fragile and can easily break, causing damage that may take months to recover. Your cooperation is vital in maintaining a healthy and thriving course.

Events Team Recognizaed
Our Events Team, including Club Manager Dan Jordan, was recognized by the Club Managers' Association for their outstanding Community Outreach efforts organizing and developing our Restaurant Week event. Read more about this accomplishment in the article linked here.

Accounting Update
We ask that you please disregard billing statements emailed on Thursday, January 2. A technical error caused periodic billing to not appear on member statements. This error was resolved by our team January 3, with corrected statements emailed to membership. Your statements are also visible on the Salisbury website and app. If you have questions regarding billing, please contact the front office at 804-794-6841.

Winter Tennis Procedures
As our outdoor courts are closed for the winter, our team aims to maximize indoor court utilization through the implementation of our policies linked here. Please familiarize yourself with these winter policies and contact the ISF at 804-794-8188 with any questions.

Tennis Sponsorships
Tennis season is around the corner and is only made better through the generosity of our member sponsors. Read more about our tennis sponsorship program in the flyer linked here and contact Director of Tennis, Scott Steinour with questions at [email protected].
